Teaching Philosophy

I meet students where they are, whether they are beginners, returning to piano, or preparing for advanced study. A healthy, relaxed technique is central to my teaching: it gives students the freedom to play with ease, confidence, and expression. Instruction adapts to individual goals, pace, learning style, and physical needs. Lessons incorporate music theory, ear training, music history, composition, and improvisation. Students are encouraged to engage deeply with their music in order to develop its fullest expressive potential.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching students of various ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced pianists.

  • Knowledge of historical performance practice and its application to Baroque music on the piano.

  • Traditional classical foundations incorporating audiation, improvisation, and composition.

  • Thorough preparation for auditions, exams, performances, and competitions.

  • Students have earned awards and recognition for performance and composition.

  • Developing confidence and strong performance skills.

The studio is located in Symmes Township with plenty of parking. Students will practice on a 6'7" Boston grand piano. Reach out to learn more or schedule a trial lesson.
