Mari Nishihata

Mari Nishihata is a piano teacher and active performer in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a Master of Music in harpsichord performance and earned her Bachelor of Music in piano performance from the University of Dayton. Mari has over fifteen years of experience as a piano instructor and loves to perform. Mari is also passionate about improvisation, composition, and the transcendent power of music.

Mari began piano lessons at the age of six and has found the piano to be the most natural way to communicate. Music is a way to express the essence of experience and life: a source of deep inspiration, joy, and peace. Through music one can connect to their inner self which can invoke powerful connection. It is fascinating how easily music can evokes feelings and sensations that can transport one to faraway realms and time. Through her performances and teaching, Mari hopes to share the beauty, power, and joy of music.
